Greener Paving
Less energy. Fewer resources. Fewer emissions.
Since the company began putting slurry seal down in 1966, saving DOTs money has always been a key benefit. Today, another benefit we've provided all these years is just beginning to be appreciated. Sustainability. In fact, two of the ways we help build and maintain roads are the two most environmentally-friendly building and maintenance techniques.
Pavement Preservation
Not only do pavement preservation techniques like slurry seal, chip seal, cape seal and micro surfacing utilize fewer resources, they also put less pollution into the environment. Studies continue to prove it. A
recent study published in Civil Engineering Journal showed that "preservation treatments can have an LCC of 30-40 % and embodied energy use and carbon emission 3-6 times lower than the traditional approach".

Reclamation and Recycling
One of the newer techniques used in asphalt pavement construction, reclamation is also faster, cheaper and more eco-friendly than legacy construction methods. By recycling asphalt in place, thousands of tons of waste asphalt are kept out of the environment and kept in service in our roads. And because it's faster, with less hauling of material, it greatly reduces emissions during the building process.
