Chip Seal

To correct and preserve.

Chip Seal is a durable and cost-effective maintenance tool that preserves the underlying road as it corrects multiple road surface issues. Also known as asphaltic surface treatments, chip seals provide exceptional added traction which results in increased safety for travelers. In fact it's also known to eliminate black ice conditions because of its surface texture.

Chip seals are also the base component of cape seals, a combination of a chip seal and a slurry seal or micro surfacing. Cape seals can perform much like an asphalt overlay at a significant reduction in cost. They do so while being more eco-friendly as this study highlights.

Chip Seal is ideal for:

Secondary routes

Low volume primary routes

Chip Seal's unique benefits:

 Extremely economical

Can correct multiple road surface flaws

 Adds skid resistance

 Helps eliminate black ice

 Seals cracking
