Mechanic

SUMMARY

Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of company equipment and vehicles performing the following duties. Certain mechanic positions require out-of-town travel lasting from 5-15 days.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include those outlined below, however other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Studies specifications and schematics to plan procedures for equipment maintenance and repair and staffing requirements for each phase of equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Services and repairs all company vehicles and equipment as necessary in accordance with safety policies and procedures
  • Confers with supervisors to resolve maintenance/repair problems and improve maintenance/repair methods.
  • Operates maintenance vehicles and travels to various jobsites and other locations required.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that maintenance/repair meets company and industry standards.
  • Immediately notifies management of potential problems that may result in production delays or unsafe working conditions.

 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) with acceptable demerit point balance
  • State inspection license
  • Mechanical training is required
