SUMMARY

Equipment operators are responsible for the safe operation of various construction equipment as directed by the project supervisor. This position requires an on-the-job presence and requires out-of-town travel lasting from 5-15 days.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include those listed below, however other duties may be assigned.


  • Adheres to all company and government safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Operates different types of heavy equipment on roadways and signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to certain specifications.
  • Assists with the training of employees in the safe and efficient operation of various construction equipment.
  • Utilizes hand tools
  • Cleans equipment and performs minor repairs.
  • Operates company vehicles and travels to various jobsites and other locations required.
  • Assists with traffic control by flagging, operating pilot vehicles, erecting/dismantling temporary construction signs.
  • Immediately notifies management of potential problems which may result in production delays, poor quality or unsafe working conditions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver's license (preferred / required for some positions) with acceptable demerit point balance
  • VDOT, MDOT, ATSSA flagging certification
